Former Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Sec. Alberto Romulo should be INVESTIGATED about the DISMAL and PATHETIC handling of the agency of the Libyan crisis.
Whoever is authorized to do so had better start as soon as possible.
Romulo had the FINAL APPROVAL in everything in the DFA, especially sensitive matters like EVACUATION PLANS.
Pero ilang linggo na ang gulo sa Libya, WALA pa sa 1,000 sa 13,000 kababayan nating gusto nang lumikas doon ang naiuwi na ng DFA sa ating bansa.
Those who have been evacuated from Libya are SCATTERED like rats in various countries like Egypt, Malta, Turkey and Crete with no assurance of when will they come home.
Obviously, there were no PRE-DETERMINED evacuation sites for our people in cases of emergencies, even though this is a VERY BASIC and VITAL concern which should have been planned for ever since.
And as I’ve written in an earlier blog, the Libyan crisis even served as a BIG INSULT to our country.
Kinailangan pa ang tulong ng mga Libyan employers ng karamihan, kundi man lahat, ng ating mga kababayan para sila makalabas doon. Ni hindi natin maliabas SA SARILI natin ang ating mga kababayan.
It only showed that DFA people in Libya were INCOMPETENT ENOUGH not to have emergency exit plans for our people there.
There are other reports of the DFA’s POOR PERFORMANCE in Libya but to cut it short, didn’t Romulo know of these CRITICAL SHORTCOMINGS?
He had been the DFA boss for a lot of years. He’s supposed to know EVERYTHING in the department.
If he knew, did he do anything about it? If yes, what? If no, why not?
Uulitin ko rin, SAAN BA NAPUPUNTA ang budget ng DFA para sa Libya at iba pang bansa kung saan mayroon itong mga ahensya?
With the hazards and inconvenience our kababayans had to go through just to get out of Libya, it seems only LOOSE CHANGE (barya-barya) had been allocated as contingency funds.
If indeed something had been set aside for it. A trademark of an IDIIOT! 30
