A more direct solution to carjacking

There is another way to prevent car thefts apart from increased police checkpoints and tips on how to avoid being a victim.

An equally-important and MORE DIRECT solution.

Publish the photos of wanted carjack gang bosses and their henchmen in ALL newspapers, leading or not, and in the PNP website  EVERYDAY for at least THREE MONTHS.

Daily for three months for retention and recall in the public mind.

Paste or nail posters of their pictures in all STRATEGIC and BUSY areas and establishments like town or city halls; LRT and MRT stations and trains; malls and supermarkets especially in their parking lots; schools, especially universities and on walls and electric posts of main thoroughfares like Taft Ave. in Manila.

Para malaman ng taumbayan, hindi lamang ang mga may-ari o driver ng mga kotse kundi pati na ng mga naglalakad o namamasahe lamang, kung SINO-SINO ang mga ito oras na makita nila.

Law enforcement agencies are appealing for the public’s help anyway in finding and
capturing criminals. We, the people, know that our lawmen have VERY LIMITED resources and personnel to search and capture the scores of hoodlums at large.

So the MILLIONS OF EXTRA PAIRS OF EYES from the public would be an immeasurable help.

And when motorists and the general public chance upon these criminals, not only can they avoid them they can call the police or  other law-enforcement agencies.

I’M NOT downplaying the importance of police checkpoints.

It’s just that there are only a few pairs of eyes at police checkpoints and sometimes, they don’t get to check all the passing vehicles and the passengers.

Ar isa pa, LAHAT ba ng police checkpoints ay mayroong mga litrato ng mga wanted na carnaper at iba pang kriminal?  Kung hindi, PAANO  nila mahuhuli ang HINDI NILA KILALA?

From our blogmates:

LEAH SALVADOR of Las PInas on our blog “More questions than answers in Noynoy’s expose”:

I agree with Mr. Antonio's arguments 100%. Mr. President told us  before "heads will roll" -- how many heads have rolled already? NONE! It doesn't stop with flowery words and promises. A good president must prove he has a word of honor. The members of his cabinet and appointees in government might have helped him win. (But) putting your trust in individuals in public office shouldn't be based merely on  ‘utang na loob.’ You should also look into their background and qualifications. Rice is the staple food of the Filipinos. Increase its price and you will surely cause hunger.

Two friends of mine asked me if I would welcome comments or other topics not in my posted daily blogs like achievements of our kababayans here or abroad.

I would be more than happy to. Issues or problems that must be brought to the public’s attention are also welcome. I will post it as early as the day after I receive it. Just include your complete name, barangay and town or city and province if outside Metro Manila or country if based abroad. You can send the details to antonio.boyet@yahoo.com or ba0715@yahoo.com.

Stay safe and God bless, everybody. 30
