DISASTERS SHOWING TRUE COLOR OF POLITICIANS!

The three major tragedies affecting our kababayans overseas, and the fourth one that experts have predicted, should open our eyes to one VERY CRUCIAL reality.

The TRUE COLOR of our POLITICIANS, LOCAL and NATIONAL.

The Libyan crisis isn’t over yet. Not all of our kababayans who want  to  go home have been repatriated.

In Japan, it’s still uncertain if all of our kababayans in areas hardest hit by the earthquake and tsunami have been accounted for. And there are reports of some of our countrymen fast running out of food or with NOTHING LEFT TO EAT but rice.

In Bahrain, reports say the unrest is worsening.

And no less than the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) has warned that a magnitude 7.2 earthquake can strike ANYTIME and kill as many as 34,000 people.

Now, have you seen any politician who has started addressing any of these issues OUTSIDE THEIR OFFICES?

Politicians IMMEDIATELY ATTEND, personally whenever they can, to EACH AND EVERY CONCERN we voters raise to them during campaign periods.

But to Libya returnees:  Has your mayor or congressman visited you to check on your condition?  Did your mayor or congressman, or senator, check on your family while you were still trapped in Libya?

For families of our kababayans  suffering now in Japan, have your mayors or congressmen reached out to you to ask what aid can they possibly give to you or your loved ones?

For loved ones of our workers in Bahrain, have you been offered any assistance by your mayors, congressmen, governors or senators to get them home? Have you even heard of anything being done by anybody?

As expected, investigations or inquiries are now in full swing in the Senate and House of Representatives over the Phivolcs earthquake warning.

But other than these MEDIA-COVERED acts in the cool and comfort of their chambers and offices, I don’t recall seeing or hearing of any senator or congressman tackling the issue directly in the field.

I haven’t seen or heard of any senator or congressman talking personally with local and barangay officials in towns and cities on their preparations for the 7.2 quake Phivolcs has warned about.

I haven’t seen or heard of any lawmaker personally visiting the Department of Public Works and Highways, or any other government agency, to check on their preparations for the quake, as against their pronouncements in media.

Anybody correct me if I’m wrong. Please.

Otherwise, TAKE NOTE of EVERY POLITICIAN who prefers staying in their comfort zones and offices rather than be with you in these times of sorrow and uncertainty.

And FORGET THEM in the 2013 elections. 30

  1. Tsunamis kills. so do earthquakes and other man-made natural and man-made calamities. In all these, the graft and corrupt practices by Philippine politicians lay the bed for the KILL.
