REYES' DEATH SHOULD NOT BE IN VAIN!

Whatever is his reason for killing himself, here’s hoping that the death of former Armed Forces chief Angelo Reyes will NOT BE IN VAIN.

For the Senate, especially Sen. Antonio Trillanes, may the death of Reyes serve as a CRYSTAL-CLEAR reminder that accused persons have the right to confront their accusers.

Not only in the interest of fair play but more importantly, for an  opportunity for the accused to CLEAR HIS NAME and PROTECT HIS OR HER REPUTATION on the spot.

FREE from any INSULT OR INDIGNITY from any senator while doing so.

Remember, Trillanes bluntly REFUSED to allow Reyes to question George Rabusa who had accused him of irregularities in a Senate hearing.

Anybody can correct me if I’m wrong but Senate investigations are supposed to be UNCONDITIONALLY IMPARTIAL anytime and only in aid of legislation. Not of PERSECUTION or character assassination, by any senator.

Unless there is a law which gives senators the right or privilege to INSULT or call an accused by any name or adjective he or she wants at any given time.

For our soldiers, whatever drove Reyes to suicide is something REALLY BIG. And don’t forget, he was not the only one being accused in the exposes.

There should never be another Angelo Reyes.

@ MA. JENNAH MITRA of Quezon City: Trillanes' should have kept quiet about Reyes' death? Come on people, are you on your right mind? We are talking about corruption here. We should continue to look for the truth. It's fallacious to say that Trillanes should stop giving statements regarding what happened cause Reyes' family is still grieving. That's ad misecordiam!

A follower who asked to be called only as SANCHO:

The Reyes extreme sacrifice is an indication of a true and loyal follower to his superior regardless of what nature. The sad thing about it is the timing and the unfinished mission to expose the real truth and possibly in cleansing his name for his family. Sen. Trillanes only reflected the added "arrogance" of the Senate,  getting worst without anyone ending behind bars, only in  grandstanding.

RIZA VALBUENA of Mandaluyong:

If you were following what really transpired in the previous days, Trillanes named Reyes as "one of the big personalities" behind Garcia based on the statements of Rabusa. He never said Reyes was the one he was talking about when he said that there's someone more powerful behind Garcia. Ngayon lang nagsalita si Trillanes.

Alliance of Volunteer Educators Party-list Rep. Eulogio Magsaysay should go to Belo or Calayan to have his dragon tongue replaced with a more aesthetically appropriate tongue because his present is very un-educator and most importantly very un-congressional. But he should do it on his private time. Congress should suspend him. I am afraid his namesakes, Sen. Eulogio ‘Amang’ Rodriguez and Pres. Ramon Magsaysay are now squirming in their graves.

CONGRESS NOT ACTING ON 'MENOPAUSAL BITCH' CASE

CALLING ALL WOMEN’S GROUPS!

You had better start knocking on the offices of your respective congressmen, and the House of Representatives as a whole, AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

Better yet, formally inquire about the status of the issue, that means in writing, at the House. Be sure to have a received copy of your letters so that the House can’t deny they got them.

Before Magsaysay, or his colleagues, claim LACK OF INTEREST by Ocampo, or any other party so there’s no need to act on the DEHUMANIZING ARROGANCE of the party-list representative.

Don’t forget, Magsaysay ADMITTED his UNCIVILIZED act.

Magsaysay confirmed that the incident was triggered by Ocampo’s failure to get him a seat next to his loved ones on a US-bound flight. He still INSULTED Ocampo even if she was POWERLESS to give what he wanted.

Third, there is no LAW, and I dare say even a WRITTEN RULE by PAL, that congressmen can get, and must have, anything they want anytime. Fourth, Ocampo’s supervisor CONFIRMED the INDIGNITY she suffered in the hands of Magsaysay.

Now is the time for all you women’s groups to prove that you mean business in fighting for the rights of your sisters in distress like Ocampo,

Ocampo needs ALL THE HELP she can get. Remember, Magsaysay ADMITTED the indignity he gave Ocampo but take note, we haven’t heard of any action by the House of Representatives against Magsaysay.

If all of you will unite and rally round-the-clock behind Ocampo, you can make a big difference. Ocampo’s victory will be the victory of all of you.

Tandaan ninyo! 30

ABUSADO, SINUNGALING SI TRILLANES!

ABUSADO at SINUNGALING pala ttong si Sen. Antonio Trillanes.

After categorically naming former Armed Forces chief Angelo Reyes as the powerful person behind plunder suspect Carlos Garcia, Trillanes now says it’s not the late ex-military boss after all.

Obviously saving face from the attacks he has been getting lately, Trillanes now claims Reyes was not the same person Garcia had identified as the one the plunder suspect was fronting for.

For those who missed it, Trillanes had HUMILIATED Reyes in a TELEVISED Senate hearing. Reyes was told by Trillanes that he HAD NO REPUTATION to protect when he tried to question the witness accusing him of anomalies.

In TOTAL DISREGARD of FAIR PLAY, Trillanes refused to allow Reyes to confront the witness, retired military budget officer George Rabusa. Trillanes linked Reyes to Garcia WITHOUT PHYSICAL evidence. Only with Rabusa’s claims as proof.

In short, it was a ONE-WAY DEMOLITION of Reyes’ reputation by Trillanes.

What we should realize is instead of BEING MAN AND CIVIL ENOUGH to admit and apologize for his abuse of Reyes, WITHOUT SOLID PROOF, Trillanes is now trying to cover it up.

This is not just parliamentary abuse anymore. This is EGO TRIP to the max, as in.

That’s why I’m ending this piece with a question for Trillanes:
Kung sakaling WALANG LUMABAS na ebidensiya na corrupt si Reyes, MAGPAPAKA-LALAKI ka ba at magiging MAGINOO para MAG-SORRY sa pamilya niya?

How about you, guys? What do you think?

BEST THING TO DO FOR REYES FAMILY

To end and PREEMPT any and all speculations once and for all, it would be best for the family of Angelo Reyes to present the gun he had used to shoot himself and his mobile phone.

Otherwise, and WITHOUT ANY DISRESPECT intended, they will only have themselves to blame if rumors and malicious attacks against him continue after his burial.

Ballistics test will prove that the gun is the same weapon that Reyes had fired at his chest when he died.

If it is, end of story. Period. No more room for rumormongers.

As of this morning, media reports say the gun has not been found and nobody could say where it is. The Reyes family has neither confirmed nor denied that they have it.

SUSPICIONS now run high on why is the gun gone missing.

Media reports say Reyes’ companions were his two sons, bodyguard and driver. So these guys were the only ones in a position to take the gun. But since the family has not said anything about it,  one can’t help but think mayroon bang dapat itago?

The mobile phone will show the last person whom Reyes had talked to before he died at his mother’s grave.

Just like the gun, nobody could tell, where the mobile phone is or who has it.

If the Reyes family does not have the gun and the phone, they had better say so NOW and explain what could have happened. I hope they realize that they will be the LONE LOSERS if they will keep their silence, or until both are found.

Until something is really CONCLUSIVE and FINAL, there will always be negative and malicious theories about what really happene

Rafael Gomez of Makati:

One reason I’m sure that led to Sec. Reyes’ decision to commit suicide is his deep love for his family, especially his mom. Sec. Reyes loved his mother very much that he promised not to do anything that would besmirch her name.

He committed suicide also because he wanted to stop his detractors from dragging his family to this issue, to stop them from taking the life and livelihood of his children and grandchildren. He committed suicide because his honor, and that of his family, has been tarnished. THAT, MR. ANTONIO, IS MY OWN OPINION, BEING A LOVING HUSBAND, FATHER AND SON..

Anonymous 1

Blood is thicker than water, so it seems. But as anybody else would say, the tragic has been done. May his detractors respect him and give (the) honor due to the man, an officer and a gentleman.

Anonymous 2

I am sure that the reason he did kill himself is because he was guilty. Why would you kill yourself if you have a clean mind and you did nothing wrong? How can he prove now that he is not guilty? 30

REYES WAS NOT DETERMINED TO DIE!

It’s getting clearer that SOMETHING, and probably even SOMEONE, drove former Armed Forces chief Angelo Reyes to his death.

I’m not one of the investigators but I will dare say that Reyes was not DETERMINED on dying yesterday, that he had no intention to end his life as much as possible.

First, there are reports that Reyes was TALKING AGITATEDLY, or tensely, to somebody on his cellular phone, before pacing back and forth and reportedly finally shooting himself.

Obviously, whatever they talked about left Reyes with only two choices – continue living and fighting the allegations against him or end all his woes by dying.

Mobile phone companies should take the initiative to answer this vital question.

Next, police still don’t have the gun Reyes supposedly used to kill himself. Reports said Reyes hugged his wife and asked her to look after their youngest son before he left home yesterday, a premonition some would say.

But Reyes DID NOT LEAVE a suicide note. And for somebody decided on ending his life, Reyes had TOO MANY companions, a total of FOUR.

Apart from being too many, Reyes’ companions were only SEVERAL FEET AWAY from him, near enough to see him and stop him from killing himself.

He did not ask them to go somewhere, to get out of sight.

To top it all, retired Navy Commodore Rex Robles said Reyes had confided to him that a powerful group was out to get him and he did not have the strength or the means to fight it.

Take note, guys, Robles is not a member of any investigative body probing Reyes. Therefore, Reyes had NOTHING TO GAIN in revealing something as sensitive as that to Robles BUT HE DID.

As to whether Robles is telling the truth or not, consider this: He won’t get anything out of it.

In my opinion, Sec. Reyes was a man of courage...someone who had the guts to weather all storms which came his way. After all, he was a seasoned military man. It’'s just unbelievable that he'll take a coward's way out of this world.

VENUS AMORANTO of Binan, Laguna:

Maybe that’s the only solution Sec. Reyes had in mind to protect his family and his dignity. Maybe for him, death was an effective remedy.

BHABY SEE of Makati:

Dignity and honor could be the reasons why Gen. Reyes committed suicide. Like most Japanese who suffered tremendous humiliation and/or extreme depression, hara-kiri was the only way or "graceful exit" to spare one’s family from further embarrassment. Others claim Sen. (Antonio) Trillanes (a critic of Reyes) should watch his words. Otherwise, better for him to carry his military rank in the Senate and remove the title "senator". 30

REYES 'SUICIDE' HIGHLY DOUBTFUL!

I’m not ruling out MURDER in the death of former Armed Forces of the Philippines chief Angelo Reyes.

And if Reyes had indeed killed himself, I would still look into the VERY STRONG POSSIBILITY of forced suicide if I would be among the investigators.

First and foremost, the gunshot wound to the heart was HIGHLY INCONSISTENT with the normal way of killing one’s self.

If the gunshot wound is in the chest, or even to the heart, one can STILL BE SAVED if he’s lucky enough to be rushed to the hospital on time.

Second, Reyes loved his mother so much in life.

Any mother, whether she’s alive or is in Heaven would not want her child to kill himself or herself, regardless of the reason. So why would Reyes BREAK HIS MOM’S HEART committing suicide right at her grave?

Take note guys, Ona REFUSED, and not because he didn’t know what. So the question is WHY?

Fourth, Reyes died JUST A DAY after it was revealed in the Senate that his wife travelled 48 TIMES to various countries as per Bureau of Immigration records.

Not only was it WAY BEYOND his declared assets, it would also STRENGTHEN allegations of financial fraud against him during his term as AFP chief.

Remember guys, Reyes was not the only one being linked to alleged ifinancial fraud at the AFP. This is where the possibility of forced suicide comes in.

So that nobody will be liable for his death, Reyes could have been threatened with the massacre of his family or loved ones, or something else as heavy as that, if he won’t KEEP HIS MOUTH SHUT, FOREVER.

One thing for sure, Reyes’ death will only give MORE CREDIBILITY to the exposes of George Rabusa and Heidi Mendoza on financial anomalies in the AFP.

MAS KAILANGAN ngayon nina George at Heidi ang security. 30

IF I WERE JINGGOY ESTRADA ...

If I were Sen. Jinggoy Estrada, I’d be in the offices of the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) and at the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) General Headquarters today with media people.

What for? To check on the declared assets of former AFP chief Angelo Reyes and ex-AFP comptroller Jacinto Ligot for any justifiable source of the money spent in the jet-setting lifestyles of their wives.

For those who missed the news, Estrada said documenys show that Mrs. Reyes raveled 48 times to foreign countries from 1993 to 2004 while Mrs. Ligot traveled 42 times during the same period.

But even a high school student would know that Ligot’s P35,000 monthly salary will never be enough for 42 foreign trips. And I would dare say that Reyes’ paycheck wasn’t even P500,000 a month.

So if records won’t show any BIG BUSINESS of Ligot or Reyes or their wives, Estrada can shout ‘bingo.’

And if there’s no documentary proof either of riches and multi-million ventures by the families of Ligot and Reyes, or the families of their wives, from other government agencies like the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), JACKPOT for Estrada.

For the sake of us poor taxpayers and for the soldiers who continue risking their lives in defense of freedom with decades-old guns and equipment while living in almost SUB-HUMAN conditions, especially in the field.

And the military retirees who spent the best years of their lives in the service  on  salaries barely enough to feed their families three times a day.

For government agencies who can help in the Senate hearings on Reyes, Ligot and alleged AFP anomalies, don’t wait for invitations or subpoenas.

Provide Estrada and the other senators with documents or other papers which you think can help.

PERSONAL MOTIVE BEHIND ROSALES REPORT

There is a personal motive behind the leakage to media of a report pointing to police Director Roberto Rosales as the protector of the Dominguez car theft syndicate.

Apart from Rosales, the people responsible for the report must be investigated thoroughly.

From the colonel who leaked the report, the one who approved it all the way down to the one who wrote it and the informants who provided the details.

The report was quoted in a newspaper as being SUBJECT FOR FURTHER VERIFICATION.  Meaning, the contents are not proven yet.

Unless the colonel is INSANE, a DRUG ADDICT who does anything he feels like doing regardless of the consequences or simply the IDIOT AMONG THE IDIOTS who didn’t realize that the report could ruin the reputation of Rosales.

PUBLICITY for the source? DEFINITELY NOT.  For the simple reason that the colonel was NOT NAMED in the newspaper story.

I’m not defending Rosales or the other officer named in the report.. As I’ve said, Rosales should also be thoroughly investigated as well as the other police officer mentioned in the report.

First possible motive: To take the heat off the Dominguez syndicate and its bosses, brothers Roger and Raymond. Don’t be surprised if either of the two suddenly testifies against Rosales.  End result, business as usual for the syndicate.

Second possible motive: With Rosales’ unblemished record, he is a very strong contender for PNP chief.  The earlier to destroy him, the better.  Whoever has the stomach to DEMONIZE people is the DEVIL  personified.

Third possible motive: To divide the PNP between Rosales’ supporters and foes while sowing distrust among the public towards the PNP.  Anyone who wants the people to hate the police is BAD, VERY VERY BAD!

MAGKAALAMAN na agad ng katotohanan.
