ASK YOUR LOVED ONES TO LEAVE LIBYA NOW!

To those who still have loved ones in Libya: Ask them to leave NOW!

And I mean WHEREVER THEY ARE in Libya, even if they’re far from Benghazi where bombings by Western nations have started.

If necessary, join forces and MONITOR ROUND THE CLOCK government efforts to get all our kababayans out of Libya. News reports quote government officials as saying 90 percent of our people have gotten out of Libya.

Verify these for yourselves and demand a DETAILED BRIEFING on exactly what is being done to bring them all home, including the remaining 10 percent.

With US, British and French military action underway, and Ghadafi’s persistence to attack rebels against his rule, NOBODY can tell HOW FAR and HOW VICIOUS hostilities will go.

So ask them not to wait first for ground, or house-to-house, fighting before they finally get out of Libya. If you have to, beg them not wait first for the violence to reach their location before they leave.

Tell them it’s their safety, NOW, that’s IMPORTANT. If it’s the future that they’re worried about, remind them that can always come back once peace returns to Libya.

Bombs and missiles may be guided, yes. But their controllers will never know 100 percent if indeed there are no civilians in their targets.

And the shrapnels from the bombs and missiles can strike anywhere after the impact. The shrapnels CAN’T BE GUIDED.  So what if, God forbid, your loved ones get killed or wounded in the bombings, in the fighting?

Who’s to blame? Who will be the biggest loser? Whose future will be shattered? Definitely, not that of your neighbors. This is not a panic button. I’m just being realistic. I’d rather not see anybody go through the proverbial “nasa huli ang pagsisis” crisis.

READ THIS BEFORE YOU DONATE TO JAPAN VICTIMS!

Newspaper reports today say swindlers and scammers have started using the Internet to solicit money for victims of the Japan quake and tsunami or feed viruses into computers by posing as legitimate charity organizations like the UNICEF.

IGNORE them totally, please, even if they use realistic logos or include factual data about the organization.

If you want to help, here’s what you can do:

The moment a solicitation appears on your computer, ask for their contact number and the location of their office. DO NOT GIVE any information about yourself, not even your name.

Once they give their personal details, call them. Ask whom you’re talking to, WHO GAVE THEM THE AUTHORITY to solicit donations and how will the money reach the victims directly instead of passing through the bank accounts they’re giving.

Then, DOUBLE-CHECK everything they’ll say with the Japanese Embassy.

If they don’t reply or refuse to answer your questions, A THOUSAND AND ONE PERCENT they’re swindlers. Pass on their solicitation to all of your friends and every website you know with a warning.

You can also relay details of the swindler’s solicitation to the police or any other law enforcement agency.

Contact the Japanese Embassy DIRECTLY for the donation you intend to give. Better yet, go straight to their offices along Roxas Blvd. or click on their website ONLY for instructions.

You can also try coursing your help through your church.

Lastly, if you do not have money or anything material to share, simply PRAY. Believe me, PRAYER is equally important as material aid.

DISASTERS SHOWING TRUE COLOR OF POLITICIANS!

The three major tragedies affecting our kababayans overseas, and the fourth one that experts have predicted, should open our eyes to one VERY CRUCIAL reality.

The TRUE COLOR of our POLITICIANS, LOCAL and NATIONAL.

The Libyan crisis isn’t over yet. Not all of our kababayans who want  to  go home have been repatriated.

In Japan, it’s still uncertain if all of our kababayans in areas hardest hit by the earthquake and tsunami have been accounted for. And there are reports of some of our countrymen fast running out of food or with NOTHING LEFT TO EAT but rice.

In Bahrain, reports say the unrest is worsening.

And no less than the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) has warned that a magnitude 7.2 earthquake can strike ANYTIME and kill as many as 34,000 people.

Now, have you seen any politician who has started addressing any of these issues OUTSIDE THEIR OFFICES?

Politicians IMMEDIATELY ATTEND, personally whenever they can, to EACH AND EVERY CONCERN we voters raise to them during campaign periods.

But to Libya returnees:  Has your mayor or congressman visited you to check on your condition?  Did your mayor or congressman, or senator, check on your family while you were still trapped in Libya?

For families of our kababayans  suffering now in Japan, have your mayors or congressmen reached out to you to ask what aid can they possibly give to you or your loved ones?

For loved ones of our workers in Bahrain, have you been offered any assistance by your mayors, congressmen, governors or senators to get them home? Have you even heard of anything being done by anybody?

As expected, investigations or inquiries are now in full swing in the Senate and House of Representatives over the Phivolcs earthquake warning.

But other than these MEDIA-COVERED acts in the cool and comfort of their chambers and offices, I don’t recall seeing or hearing of any senator or congressman tackling the issue directly in the field.

I haven’t seen or heard of any senator or congressman talking personally with local and barangay officials in towns and cities on their preparations for the 7.2 quake Phivolcs has warned about.

I haven’t seen or heard of any lawmaker personally visiting the Department of Public Works and Highways, or any other government agency, to check on their preparations for the quake, as against their pronouncements in media.

Anybody correct me if I’m wrong. Please.

Otherwise, TAKE NOTE of EVERY POLITICIAN who prefers staying in their comfort zones and offices rather than be with you in these times of sorrow and uncertainty.

And FORGET THEM in the 2013 elections. 30

METRO MANILA, LAGUNA, CAVITE, BULACAN, RIZAL RESIDENTS READ THIS!

Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) deputy administrator Bartolome Bautista has warned that the Marikina West Valley fault line could move anytime and trigger a 7.2 magnitude earthquake.

The fault line runs from the Sierra Madre to Sta. Rosa in Laguna and Carmona, Cavite, cutting through Bulacan, Rodriguez, Rizal, Quezon City, eastern Metro Manila including Pasig, Taguig, Muntinlupa and San Pedro and Sta. Rosa towns in Laguna.

To residents of these areas, START TALKING TO YOUR MAYORS AND GOVERNORS NOW! Include your congressmen and senators as well.

Since Bautista says the quake can happen ANYTIME, better find out now where or which exactly is the evacuation center for your neighborhood. More importantly, are there RESERVE FOODSTUFFS and drinking water for the center?

And as I’ve said in an earlier blog, are there standing arrangements with manufacturers or suppliers for IMMEDIATE PURCHASES once disaster strikes?

Ask your local officials which buildings have been deemed UNSAFE and avoid these as much as possible from now on. Demand an explanation on what have they done about these. If they cite operational problems like limited budget, ask them what are they doing to solve it.

Local and provincial government units have budgets for publications.

If you have not received any printed guidelines on disaster preparedness, especially earthquakes like what Phivolcs has just warned, start demanding for some. It’s your taxes which they spend.

If they’ll say there’s no budget, DEMAND AN EXPLANATION. Better yet, EXPOSE THEM IN MEDIA.

Do the same things for your congressmen and senators. They’re supposed to represent your districts or regions in the House of Representatives and the Senate.

Flood them with letters, or overrun their offices and homes with your visits. Ask them WHAT SPECIFICALLY HAVE THEY DONE, OR DO THEY INTEND TO DO,  to protect you from the Marikina West Valley fault quake.

Whoever fails to give a satisfactory answer, and whoever refuses to entertain you or go down to your barangays and neighborhoods for consultations, they are the ones YOU SHOULD NOT VOTE FOR IIN 2013.

My house is 10 kilometers away from our nuclear power plant east of Toronto. We do not have bunkers here. What we have are Iodine capsules to be taken in the event of a radiation fallout, children first, then adults. We may be evacuated in one call if needed. Our government is ready for this.  But spreading false texts is so insensitive and so irresponsible. They are like barking dogs from nowhere. Mag-isip muna (kayo) bago manloko, o talagang luko-loko (lang kayo).

OLIVE VECINA of Bacoor, Cavite:
Nakakahiya tayong mga PILIPINO sa ginagawang pamamalakad ng Japanese government sa mga tao dun dahil sa radiation fallout problem. Napaka well disciplined.

JOHN CHRISTIAN BALINGIT of Davao City:

PROBE CELFONE FIRMS FOR TEXT PRANKSTERS!

MOBILE PHONE companies are the FIRST ONES who should be probed for the spread of hoax text messages saying the Philippines will be affected by radiation from the nuclear reactor explosions in Japan.

First and foremost, they sold the mobile phones and sim cards being used by pranksters. They have a record of all their buyers, or the distributor or dealer who sold the phone or sim cards.

Hoax text messages AUTOMATICALLY FOLLOW every time there is a an event as big as the Japan quake.

Mayroon na ba kayong nabalitaang naparusahan, kundi man nakasuhan?

Have you ever read or heard of even ONE SERIOUS, NON-STOP effort by ALL the mobile phone companies to identify and apprehend pranksters? I have not. And I will be happy to correct myself if I have to.

Second, it’s the mobile phone companies WHO WILL BENEFIT, or should I say EARN, THE MOST with hoax chain text messages.

Consider this, guys: a GREATER MAJORITY of us 80 million or so Filipinos own or use mobile phones. So even if only 5 percent pass along a prank text imagine HOW MANY MILLIONS would that be in just A FEW SECONDS for the mobile phone companies.

I’m ruling out anti-government groups in this nuke fallout hoax.

Lastly, prank text messages spread like wildfire once it starts. As if there is a data bank of numbers on standby for pranksters. Only mobile phone companies have a COMPLETE list of numbers CURRENTLY IIN USE.

Four of our friends on “Let’s help catch nuke fallout pranksters”:

SWAYNE CUNANAN of Cavite:

Excuse me po, Mr. A. Yung direction po ba ng wind hindi nagbabago? For me kasi, if we're going to be affected, wala tayong magagawa, short of hiding in bunkers (which we don't have) until it's all over. Airborne yun eh. Anyway, hindi naman magmamanifest agad yung effect, if ever there is, di ba?

RAFAEL GOMEZ of Makati City:

Mr. Antonio tanong ko lang, SINO ba sa palagay mo ang lubos na NAKIKINABANG sa chain text na iyan? Di ba kapag merong big news na katulad ng sa Japan, merong kumakalat na ganiyang klaseng text?

CAS MAYOR  of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia:

I agree that the public listen only to the right authorities regarding any rumors about Japan's nuke fallout reaching the Philippines.

EGAY MONTANA, a former colleague at Philippine Journalists Inc.:

I’ve read  your blog. You’re right. 30

LET'S HELP CATCH NUKE FALLOUT PRANKSTERS!

Let’s all help in capturing the ROAMING DEMIONS trying to stir panic by claiming that nuclear fallout from Japan’s crippled reactors would reach the Philippines.

These INSANE BASTARDS deserve no mercy or protection. They must be caught before they succeed in throwing us into panic and chaos.

When you receive a text with this kind of message, write down the number and report or forward it immediately to the police, or to the first local official you can find.

You can also relay the prankster’s number to the cell  phone company which provides the service, and to the National Telecommunications Commission for possible tracing.

Better yet, relay the number to ALL RADIO AND TV STATIONS so that they can air it in their HOURLY NEWS as a warning to the public that same day.

And don’t forget the newspapers so they can include it in their issues the following day.

Ignoring pranksters like this IS NOT ENOUGH.

They are fully aware that almost all of the 80 million or so Filipinos are mobile phone users. They know that with such a huge audience, they will be noticed and considered one way or another.

Unless THEY ARE EXPOSED as HOAX PROPHETS of disaster, and thrown behind bars.

For those who missed it in the news, World Health Organization Director for the Philippines Dr. Soe Nyunt-U, said prevailing wind conditions show that the Philippines is out of the path of the smoke from the nuclear explosion in Japan.

Sa mga manloloko, KUNIN NA SANA KAYO NI LORD! 30

WILL ANTI-MERCI CONGRESSMEN ACCEPT DEFEAT?

Since efforts to condition the public mind for the impeachment of Ombudsman Merci Gutierrez is getting more and more vulgar, one crucial question must be categorically answered by anti-Merci congressmen.

WILL THEY ACCEPT, AND RESPECT, an acquittal by the Senate? Related to this,, what assurance can they give to the  people that they will?

I’m raising this issue because the noise that anti-Merci congressmen has been making is getting to be DEAFENING.

They feed to media EVERYTHING they could possibly say on Merci’s  impeachment, from the projected number of votes they would get to the SUPPOSED strength of its articles.

Without citing names, place and figures, some have even gone to the extent of claiming that pro-impeachment congressmen will vote according to the will of the people in their districts.

Even if the entire House of Representatives HAS YET TO VOTE on the articles of impeachment.

So in case the Senate acquits Merci, what happens next? Will pro-impeachment congressmen be civil and statesmen enough to GRACIOUSLY ACCEPT DEFEAT?

Will they allow the country to move on, NORMALLY? Can we be sure that they’ll GET BACK, and FOCUS, on their PRINCIPAL JOB, the crafting of proposed laws?

This is NOT IN DEFENSE of Merci, let that be for the record. As I’ve emphasized in an earlier blog, on with the impeachment. Stop the ‘pa-pogi’ in media now.

It’s just that it’s us, the people, who CONTINUE TO LOSE with all the media hype and grandstanding being done by all these pro-impeachment congressmen.

It’s OUR TAXES which pay for their SALARIES , pork barrel funds and EVERY PESO spent for EVERYTHING THEY DO as congressmen. But we get more of WHAT WE DON’T NEED than WHAT WE NEED from them.

Considering the hard times, WE DESERVE OUR MONEY’S WORTH.

LAYTON WELSH of Scotts Valley, California, USA on “We better find out if we’re ready for disasters!”:

Yes, I agree that world governments should prepare for catastrophic events. There is talk now among newscasters of amazement at all the changes that are occurring around the world. This points to the foretold galactic alignment that will happen on Dec. 21, 2012. We will enter the center of the elliptical plane of the Milky Way where the gravitational pull of a super massive black hole is at its strongest. Science has proven that every time the earth goes into this alignment every 68,000 years life extinction events take place. Since we entered into this alignment in 2008, there has been a dramatic increases in changing weather patterns, increased earth quakes around the world and volcanoes that have been extinct coming to life. 30
