FEARLESS FORECAST ON PING LACSON!

FEARLESS FORECAST – Sen. Ping Lacson will be used for the impeachment of Ombudsman Merci Gutierrez.

Most likely, as a witness who will link Merci in every possible way to supposed anomalies committed and ignored during the presidency of Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.

Or as a planner and strategist on how to attack Merci’s credibility and reputation to strengthen the accusation of betrayal of public trust against her.

Remember Lacson’s series of exposes against the Arroyo presidency? Anybody correct me if I’m wrong but he NEVER GET TO PROVE any of it, did he?

Another possibility is as an unofficial liaison of President Aquino in the Senate to help win other senators’ votes for the conviction and ouster of Merci from office.

Remember, Noynoy only has four party mates in the Senate. Lacson is a known political ally but that makes it just five. And Merci only needs seven votes for an acquittal.

Whatever the scenario, EXPECT Lacson to make a whole damn lot of political noise, starting Monday when he holds a press conference.

Lacson won’t definitely take everything that had happened to him sitting down.

He knows he has lost his CREDIBILITY, and has to regain it FAST before he gets empty chairs and function rooms as audiences for his speeches.

So get ready to hear one accusation after another from Lacson against all his enemies. The Arroyos had better prepare for a new round of accusations and condemnations, with Lacson’s help.

Just one thing, guys: Listening is not enough. Let’s ask for EVIDENCE, and EXAMINE IT VERY CAREFULLY, before we make our own conclusion. As I’ve said before in an earlier blog, let’s not be USED by anyone or by any group for their PERSONAL INTERESTS.

ROBREDO IS A PATHETIC INCOMPETENT WHO MUST BE FIRED!

I hate to say this but for a Cabinet member, Interior and Local Government Secretary Jesse Robredo is one PATHETIC INCOMPETENT.

President Aquino should either relieve him of disaster preparedness responsibilities IMMEDIATELY, as in NOW, or fire him altogether.

It has been 10 days since the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) warned that the West Valley (formerly Marikina) fault line is already ripe for movement and could trigger a 7.2-magnitude earthquake ANYTIME.

Alongside with this was the Japan International Cooperation Agency’s Metro Manila Earthquake Impact Reduction Study saying  a 7.2-magnitude earthquake in Metro Manila would destroy 16,000 buildings and injure at least 150,000 people.

But it was only YESTERDAY when Robredo instructed  Metro Manila mayors to identify areas sitting on fault lines and warn residents of the risks they face.

So had the earthquake struck within the past 10 days Robredo, as LOCAL GOVERNMENTS boss, would have had VERY LITTLE, if not NOTHING, to say on how were residents prepared for the disaster.

Interpret this direct quote by him from today’s issue of the Philippine Star yourself: “I think we have to provide them with information that if this happens, this is what you do.”

Robredo did not even have anything to say about evacuation programs and preparations in the local government level. He DOESN’T EVEN KNOW WHAT’S GOING ON in his OWN TERRITORY.

He could not even cite SPECIFIC recommendations. All he can DISGUSTINGLY say is “can we afford it (evacuation)? If you don’t have the money, what will you do?” He’s the BOSS, but he’s the one asking what must be done.

If Robredo does not know what to do, and what’s going on in his kingdom, he has NO MORAL and PROFESSIONAL RIGHT to be DILGF chief.

You are correct, brod. Garcia's turn will come if ever he is put under further questioning again. Their legal counsels should be cited for contempt too, and probably, together with them placed under Senate arrest if found guilty of abusing the privilege of invoking "right against self-incrimination.”

The Ligots are just using the "right against self incrimination" to escape from answering intriguing questions. The Senate must insist (on answers) in "aid of legislation." The Ligot couple is fooling the Senate committee.

IF LIGOT CAN BE DETAINED, WHY NOT GARCIA?

The resolve shown by the Senate in having former Armed Forces comptroller Jacinto Ligot arrested for lying to avoid attending hearings into his questionable wealth is noteworthy.

But here’s hoping that the Senate will DO THE SAME to Ligot’s successor, Carlos Garcia.

For the simple reason that even if he attend hearings, Garcia is just as EVASIVE as Ligot in answering questions on the SUSPICIOUS SOURCE of his OWN WEALTH.

I will dare say that the more important issue is REFUSAL TO ANSWER QUESTIONS from senators during the hearings, and not just pretending to be sick.

We have all seen on television the COUNTLESS TIMES Garcia has invoked his right against self-incrimination even on the most harmless questions during Senate hearings.

Ligot, and his wife, did the same thing. So the question now is if Ligot can be detained, WHY NOT GARCIA?

Just like in Ligot’s case, PROOF OF GARCIA’S WEALTH IS ALL OVER – multi-million properties here and there, including a condo unit in one of the most expensive places in the US; hundreds of millions in bank deposits, cars,  among others.

Properties and assets to which HE ADMITTED OWNERSHIP of.

All on a salary of LESS THAN P50,000 A MONTH  as Armed Forces comptroller, and no track record as a highly successful businessman. Plus the admission of his wife that contractors who got jobs with his help gave them monies.

With all these ESTABLISHED FACTS, it would be hard to believe that there is N SPECIAL TREATMENT for Garcia if he will not be severely disciplined like Ligot.

No matter how sincere and determined the Senate is in getting to the bottom of anomalies in military funds.

Don’t be surprised, ladies and gentlemen, if any day now, Ligot or his cronies accuse the Senate of favoritism towards Garcia. I wonder how the Senate will react.

HOW TO AVOID BEING A DRUG COURIER!

Let’s all pray for our three countrymen who are scheduled to be executed in China next week for being couriers of illegal drugs.

They may have done something TERRIBLY WRONG, willingly or not, but they’re still Filipinos. Let’s ask God to allow them into His Kingdom.

To drug couriers out there: your bosses will ABANDON YOU once you get caught. And that’s whether you spend the rest of your life in jail, or DIE by lethal injection. For your bosses, you’re nothing but TRASH.

Here are some tips on how to avoid being an unwitting drug courier:

NEVER work for known or suspected drug traffickers. Don’t even befriend them.

NEVER ACCEPT packages from anyone, regardless of how much they offer you, unless the person is a family member or has been a tried and tested true friend for A LOT OF YEARS.

If you will be asked by your boss to carry a package at the LAST MINUTE, ask what is the content. If your boss refuses to tell you, and threatens you with dismissal if you disobey, 99 percent it’s something ILLEGAL.  Resign on the spot.

Similarly, if your husband or wife asks you to do the same without telling you the contents of the package, don’t obey. Demand that he or she open the package first and show the contents.

Unless it’s your family or siblings, NEVER ALLOW anybody else to prepare your luggage before going on a trip.  Especially if you don’t know who will do it and if will be done  without your presence.

Lastly, to save others from ending up as drug couriers, tip off the police or any other law enforcement of drug trafficking operations that you know. There are ways on how to keep your identity secret.

Nail this to your head: being a drug courier CAN COST YOU YOUR LIFE!

TOGETHER, LET'S FIGHT OIL FIRMS' GREED

Since no senator or congressman will initiate any move to even regulate the UNQUENCHABLE THIRST, or should I say OBSESSION and LUST FOR MONEY of the oil companies, we ordinary mortals had better start waging our own fight.

First, IMMEDIATELY ORGANIZE CARPOOLS among yourselves and use this RELIGOUSLY, and I mean RELIGOUSLY every working day.

If you’re all vehicle owners in your group, make it a rotating carpool or a different vehicle for each day.  Of course, divide the cost of the gas among yourselves.   This way, you ALL SAVE ON GAS OR DIESEL the whole week.

For example, you’re five guys in a group who each spend an average of P500 daily for gas. That’s P2,500 a week. In a rotating carpool, each one of you will only have to share P100 A DAY or ONLY P500 A WEEK for gas.

Second, STRICTLY MINIMIZE, and I mean reduce, the use of your vehicles out of LAZINESS and LUXURY.

If you’re going to Mass and the church is just two to three streets away, WALK or ride in a tricycle instead of using your vehicle. Do the same thing if you’re just visiting a friend within the same distance or one to two more streets away.

Third, if there’s no carpool, planned or existing, ride public transport MORE OFTEN than you use your vehicle in going to work.

You can just imagine the MILLIONS OF LITERS of gas in savings for everyone, and lost sales to the oil companies, if these measures will be practiced RELIGIOUSLY by vehicle owners.

Fourth, keep on pounding our senators and congressmen, even Malacanang, for steps to STOP the oil companies from leading us to an ENDLESS ROAD TO  CALVARY just to stuff  their BOTTOMLESS pockets with our cash.

Whoever plays deaf and dumb, DISREGARD HIM OR HER Not just in the 2013 but in ALL ELECTIONS FOREVER.

It’s getting OBVIOUS as time passes that we CAN NEVER RELY on senators and congressmen, or whoever is in Malacanang, to stand up against oil companies and tell them “SOBRA NA ANG KASUWAPANGAN N’YO.”

We have to do it ourselves, CONSISTENTLY.

BETTER FOR MERCI TO GO ON LEAVE, ASAP!

It would be best for Ombudsman Merci Gutierrez to GO ON INDEFINITE LEAVE IMMEDIATELY.

Her media handlers had better realize, and explain to her, that she is doing MORE HARM THAN GOOD to herself by remaining visible to the public eye. Especially to the PUBLICITY-HUNGRY congressmen who had voted to impeach her.

The presumption of innocence on the part of Merci can never be taken away, the demonization and media attacks notwithstanding. But she will be DEMONIZED BEYOND REDEMPTION if she doesn’t make herself invincible.

Give it a week or two, and her detractors will surely start claiming that she must be trying to HIDE or MANIPULATE something as the reason behind her continued stay at work.

Naturally, she’ll say of course not. But the follow-up question will be what guarantee or proof can she give?  Meanwhile, the media attacks on her reputation, and the division or polarization of the country, continue non-stop.

Merci can endlessly profess innocence, and claim that she has done no wrong.

But she must FACE it that at this point in time, NON-BELIEVERS greatly outnumber the BELIEVERS, and that she NEEDS A LOT, LOT , LOT MORE than dedication to her work to prove that she’s clean.

If Merci will say that she has a lot of pending jobs at the Office of the Ombudsman, all that her detractors have to counter with is the agency will still function even without her.

At the rate she is being handled, or is handling herself, Merci is FAST MOVING CLOSER and CLOSER to public condemnation that no amount of explanation or  due process can  pacify, easily or not.

She will go down in history, yes. But not just the first Ombudsman to be impeached  but the first Ombudsman who helped her CRITICS DESTROY HER. 30

We really have to organize to fight them. One, the gov't should re-acquire Petron, if it’s not possible, create its own oil company to compete with the cartel. That oil deregulation law is a stupid law. Parang binitay tayo sa mga oil companies. In the US they can deregulate because they have good enforcement of a good anti-trust law. Here we do not even have such law. Second we should lobby that there should be bike lines in every busy street of the metropolis so the people can bike instead of use cars. Third we should have shaded pedestrian walks especially in highly urbanized areas so the people may walk instead of ride.

JULIAN RABAGO of Cavite City:

Bike ang service namin dito pero affected pa rin kami ng oil price hike dahil tumataas din ang bilihin. Bakit di i-promote ang biking dito? Paano kasi maraming Pinoy ang tamad maglakad. Sa kabilang kanto lang pupunta magkokotse pa. Mano kayang maglakad na lang?

WITH MERCI IMPEACHED, EVERYBODY SHUT UP NOW!

Time to get back to work, House Justice Committee members.

Now that the entire House of Representatives has decided to impeach Ombudsman Merci Gutierrez,  the committee members should STOP ENDLESSLY talking about it  and get back to their primary job.

Writing proposed laws that will address the country’s MAJOR PROBLEMS and help provide a better life for the people, especially the poor.

Except for the prosecution team which will be formed for the trial at the Senate, NO OTHER CONGRESSMAN has ANY BUSINESS anymore to talk about the impeachment. Not even committee chair Niel Tupas of Iloilo, unless he will be chosen as one of the prosecutors.

The impeachment is now up to the Senate. It’s the law. Period. Except for the prosecutors, EVERYBODY SHUT UP from now on. PLEASE!

Continuing to talk about the impeachment will not bring down the prices of oil products. It will not provide jobs or cheap education, or housing and adequate health care for the poor.

The only thing it will provide is FREE MEDIA MILEAGE, or POGI POINTS to  PUBLICITY-HUNGRY congressmen.

I sure hope Speaker Sonny Belmonte will officially issue a gag order of sorts not just to the justice committee members but to ALL CONGRESSMEN, especially for MIND CONDITIONING media statements anyone tries to come out with.

And as I’ve asked in earlier blog, will anti-Merci congressmen accept defeat in case of an acquittal by the Senate? What guarantee can they give us, the people, that they will?

My dear congressmen, kicking Merci out of office is NOT YOUR ONLY JOB. Keep that in mind, please!
