LET'S TALK TO POPE JOHN PAUL II, AGAIN!

I join our countrymen in celebrating the beatification of Pope John Paull II. We all saw the love and concern he had for our country, and our race.

Join me please, in these petitions to him.

May Pope John Paull II save and protect us from the uncontrollable GREED of the oil companies.

May he help us remind them that money isn’t everything, and that they can’t take it to their graves or use it as a leverage when they are judged at the gates of Heaven.

Let’s ask him to talk for us to the protectors in Government of the oil firms, who ensures that their profits are not reduced even by a centavo with NON-STOP price hikes,  BUT DON’T GIVE A DAMN to the SHRINKING QUALITY OF LIFE of the poor due to these increases.

I pray that John Paull will help us REMOVE the PUBLICITY HOUNDS among our senators, congressmen and government officials – supposed leaders who have DONE NOTHING else but complain, criticize, accuse and malign people even without immediate proof and issue ‘pa-pogi’ statements on current issues for publicity purposes.

Related to this, may he remind us all that EVIDENCE and PHYSICAL PROOF are the correct gauges of the truth of one’s accusations against another, and not just the number of times the accuser repeats it in media in various shapes and forms.

To help us achieve true national unity while KICKING OUT rumor mongers and exploiters out into oblivion.

Let’s pray to John Paull to help us uncover the corrupt in Government by aiding us uncover their deeds and leading us straight to their paths. May he intercede for us before God in attaining genuine economic progress through just distribution of wealth and LASTING, NATIONA PEACE.

May he also enlighten the minds of the misguided, especially kids, on the evils of illegal drugs, abortion and reckless sex and lure them away from these deadly sins.

We have a lot of other major concerns. Let’s leave them all to John Paul..

He took very good care of us when he was our Holy Father. The more he’’ do so now that he’s with our Saviour and our Blessed Mother Mary. Believe me.

Thirteen of our friends on “Marci wins Round 1 with her resignation”:

CASIANO NAVARRO of Colorado, USA

If you are saying that your favorite character is not vindictive, you are awfully wrong. But, I agree with you that  Merci's brilliancy in dropping her Ombudsman's robe like it were a smoldering potato, is most certainly burning the catcher's palms now. Let us watch the events as they unfold, because a stupid guy's tendency is to either toss the burning object to another catcher or, put it in his pocket.

BERNIE

Won round 1? Maybe not, but she saved herself from a knockout.

JULIAN RABAGO of Cavite City

What else can we expect, Boyet? May hustisya pa bang mananaig sa huli?

ATTY. BERTENI CAUSING of Manila

She won over the people who lost the chance to punish her because she preempted the impeachment trial. Simple as that, Boyet.

VIRGILIO PERALES of Bogo, Cebu

Part of a grand plan?

SERGIO NEPOMUCENO

Was it a scripted ply?

NOEMI MONTENEGRO

Gutierrez's resignation doesn't absolve her from all the corruption she has committed. She can still be charged and held liable.

PERRY DIAZ

Ellen Tordesillas reported that the Arroyos had been seen at the San Francisco Airport without luggage. Like they say sa Pinas, "pumoga na!"

ROMULUS JOVE BELTRAN

The can run but they can’t hide.

JUNEX DORONIO of Cebu City

Iwas-pusoy ba tawag dun,… he he he.

MARIA CRISOSTOMO IBARRA

Some hidden agenda we do not know yet.. but will come out later, Boyet. But the thing is naisahan na namn tayo. At least, dapat may kaso din ito para di pamarisan.

DELIA PASION SANIDAD

I would like to think so, too.

MANNIX

As usual, it sounds like a calculated risk, confidently leaning on a perceived solid wall considering the wealth and power the Arroyos have. 30

MERCI WINS ROUND 1 WITH HER RESIGNATION!

Wittingly or unwittingly, Merci Gutierrez HAS WON ROUND 1 against her detractors, and even President Noynoy, with her resignation as Ombudsman.

Apart from RELIEVING HERSELF of the burden of proving her impartiality as Ombudsman, Merci has skillfully tossed the same problem, with ease, to the Aquino Administration.

It’s now Noynoy’s turn to prove that he’s FAIR AND JUST towards his political foes, especially former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo (GMA), with his choice of the next Ombudsman.

With his publicly-declared, and bright as sunshine, crusade to go after GMA and her presidency, it would be very interesting to see how Noynoy will do it.

Merci’s perceived loyalty to GMA for having appointed her as Ombudsman was the biggest, or should I say SOLE REASON, which was cited for her purported refusal to touch complaints of fraud during the Arroyo presidency.

So this early, Noynoy must CONVINCIINGLY guarantee that the next Ombudsman will be TOTALLY INDEPENDENT and IMPARTIAL.

He must assure us, and NOT JUST WITH WORDS, that the next Ombudsman WILL NOT BE HIS PUPPET or ROBOT as Merci was ruthlessly portrayed to be.

How will Noynoy do it is his problem, not ours.

But he must realize, for his own sake, that Merci’s resignation is not a walk in the park for him and his plans in the Office of the Ombudsman.

As shown by the drastic drop in his popularity and trust ratings, the people no longer take Noynoy’s flowery rhetoric and, so far, empty promises, hook, line and sinker.

For us ordinary mortals, what we have to do is keep an eye round-the-clock on Noynoy and the next Ombudsman.

Let’s show Noynoy  that WE WILL NOT ALLOW the next Ombudsman to be his DUIMMY or PUPPET, or the agency to be his newest tool in hounding his political enemies with anything he can think of.

One thing for sure, there’s no reason for the Aquino Administration to celebrate with Merci’s exit.  30

FRANK CHAVEZ SHOULD PUT UP OR SHUT UP!

Former Solicitor General Frank Chavez had better PUIT UP OR SHUT UP in the plunder case he had filed against former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo (GMA) and three others.

Especially now that some people like Sen. Ping Lacson and Bayan Muna is starting to ride on the issue for MEDIA MILEAGE.

Chavez has threatened to also sue for plunder  several others in connection with his allegations that P530 million in Overseas Workers’ Welfare Fund (OWWA) were illegally transferred to Philhealth to boost GMA’s chances in the 2004 presidential polls.

He says he has documentary evidence, but will only file the additional charges in June since he will be leaving for abroad and will be out for a month.

To this I say:  PRESENT YOUR EVIDENCE NOW and STOP THE TRIAL BY PUBLICITY.

Two of the people you charged with GMA, former Philhealth chief Francisco Duque and ex-OWWA boss Virgilio Angelo, have presented proof -- checks showing that the funds were transferred to Philhealth only in 2005, long after the elections.

If the accused can present their evidence, why can’t you?

If you’re 100 percent convinced that you have enough proof, and an air-tight case, then file the additional charges TODAY or before you leave for abroad on May 5 as you say.

Why prolong it if you really have enough evidence?

You berated Commission on Audit (COA) Chair Grace Tan for citing the agency’s report which did not find anything anomalous in the fund transfer, making you look like, as you yourself said, a stupid incompetent.

I hope you can cite even one law, Mr. Chavez, which prohibits COA from IMMEDIATELY revealing its findings on a complaint like yours, especially if it’s several years old.

If you can’t, then you’re not entitled to any special treatment or deference on your complaint from COA.

If you won’t \present your evidence, and won’t file the additional raps you say, NOW, then keep your mouth shut, Mr. Chavez.

It will be GROSSLY UNFAIIR to the people you are accusing, especially the  new ones whom you have also threatened to sue, to have their reputations besmirched by your allegations without immediate proof.

If you to keep on talking without doing anything, it can only mean that you’re only after the publicity and the ‘pogi points’ you can hopefully earn before the eyes of President Aquino. 30

GAPING HOLES IN PLUNDER RAPS VS GMA, ET AL

The GAPING HOLES in the plunder case filed by former Solicitor General Frank Chavez against former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo (GMA) and three others are TOO BIG AND TOO ILLOGICAL to escape even the COMMON SENSE of even a non-lawyer like me.

Chavez claims that GMA used P530 million in Overseas Workers’ Welfare Administration (OWWA) funds to buy Philhealth cards for her presidential bid in 2004.

But GMA’s co-accused, former Philhealth chief Francisco Duque, says the OWWA monies Chavez is talking about were transferred to  PhilHealth about a year after the election, and that he still has copies of the checks to prove this.

Chavez cited as proof the distribution of the Philhealth cards with GMA’s picture during the 2004 elections.

But Duque said those cards were funded by the national government and by P3 billion from the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO).

I wonder what is Chavez’s evidence against Duque’s counter-claims.

Duque says he has documents to show that overseas workers and their dependents benefited from the transfer of OWWA funds to PhilHealth.

Chavez did not mention this in his case.

Chavez said as early as 20 November 2002, Duque wrote to GMA to  propose the transfer of the funds to PhilHealth because this would have a significant bearing on the 2004 elections.

But HE DIDN’T CITE any law which was violated by the request to transfer the funds.

Commission on Audit chair Grace Tan said the agency had looked into the fund transfer and DID NOT FIND IT ANOMALOUS. Chavez DIDN’T HAVE anything to say about this.

Basically, plunder is the act of stealing at least P50 million in public funds, pocketing it for personal gain.

But in his plunder complaint Chavez ADMITS that the OWWA funds WERE TRANSFERRED to Philhealth, NOT STOLEN or kept by GMA and her co-accused for themselves.

Judge for yourselves, boys and girls.

This IS NOT in defense of GMA. What I’ve stated here are FACTS and published news reports. There is a WHALE of a difference between the two. Anybody correct me if I’m wrong.

Just be sure to put your name and location, either right after your comment in our blogspot or through my Facebook page. 30

PROOF OF AQUINO GOVT'S PARTIALITY IN FAVOR OF OIL FIRMS!

Here’s proof of what I wrote yesterday that the Aquino Administration is trying to make fools and idiots out of us when it comes to oil prices.

The Department of Energy (DOE) has threatened to file charges against the oil companies if they will not roll back prices following increases which were above the agency’s prescribed adjustments based on a similar formula used by local firms.

The DOE itself is saying that the oil firms had COMMITTED OVERPRICING. But NO CHARGES, NO ACTION would be taken against the oil companies if they will follow the DOE.

The DOE had earlier asked the oil companies to explain the overpricing, yes. But as I had pointed out in a previous blog, there are NO DEADLINES as to until when the explanation should be made.

Meaning, the oil companies have UNTIL ETERNITY to file their explanation and the DOE won’t lift a finger. The oil firms are given ALL THE CHANCES IN THE WORLD to correct their mistake and remain UNTOUCHED.

Not only that, the Aquino Administration is even LAWYERING for the oil firms land FRYING US on our own lard.

How? Pnoy has asked the DOE and the Justice department to REVIEW the SERIES of oil price increases if indeed these are justified. In effect, he is saying that there might be no reason at all for the people to get mad over the NON-STOP oil price hikes and the increasing burdens these entail.

But instead of leaving it entirely to the oil firms to defend their INSATIABLE LUST for money, Pnoy wants to do it for them through the Government.

With government people, who get paid WITH OUR TAXES, not with Pnoy’s own money.  We’re the ones suffering from the GREED of the oil firms and still, it’s us WHO HAVE TO PAY for the chance of the oil companies to prove they’re not to blame for anything.

Whereas for other people, cases are filed first before the accused is given a chance to explain before the government agency which will handle the case.

Like former presidential son Mikey Arroyo and former Local Waterworks and Utilities Administration (LWUA) boss Prospero Pichay.

Mikey received a letter from the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) giving him 10 days to explain his supposed evasion of taxes. But after only two days, a case was filed against him.

Pichay was sued over a transaction during his term at LWUA. But reports say he was never given a chance to explain his side first before charges were brought against him.

If this is not a CRUDE and VULGAR scheme by the Government to make idiots out of us, anybody is welcome to explain why. 30

LET'S ALL FIND THIS OUT FOR OURSELVES!

My informers have revealed to me that two VERY, VERY INFLUENTIAL and WEALTHY PEOPLE are among the major players in the oil industry.

One of the two occupies A TOP government post. The other is a businessman known for his connections in both business and government, even during past administrations.

“This is the reason why the oil firms remain, as you say, sooo sacred and sooo untouchable in this Government,” one of my informers stressed.

The revelation, along with the continued LIP SERVICE of the Government in probing the non-stop increases in oil prices, strengthened my observation that we are being taken for a ride and looked upon as gullible idiots by this Administration.

As I had written in my blog yesterday, the Department of Energy (DOE) has discovered that the 13th price increase imposed by oil companies last Tuesday were above the agency’s prescribed adjustments based on a similar formula used by local firms.

The DOE demanded an explanation from the oil companies a week or so ago. But up to now, I have yet to hear of a scheduled public hearing on the issue or of the DOE vigorously running after the books of the oil firms.

Anybody correct me if I’m wrong.

Last Thursday, President Noynoy ordered a review of the 13, not just one but 13, price hikes imposed by the oil companies since 2011 started. But no deadlines, no designated review body or agency, no scope of the review, no nothing.

Justice Sec. Leila de Lima herself revealed that the Arroyo administration froze oil price increases in 2009 through Executive Order (EO) 839. But crucial as it is, nobody in Government has even called for a consideration of this move.

Now, if this isn’t lip service, or ‘pogi points,’ somebody tell me what it is.  With a good explanation, please.

If former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo can freeze oil prices, WHY CAN’T Noynoy?

It would be interesting to find out who are the BIGGEST STOCKHOLDERS of each and every oil company. Every name that comes up should be double-checked against their declared assets to find out if they’re just dummies of somebody else or not.

Dig up the contracts entered into by (Former President Fidel) Ramos with independent power producers (IPP) during his term which causes high electricity rates. We are even being charged for power that has not been utilized! The government is required to pay private power plant operators even if they do not supply a single watt!

EDGAR BUENAVENTURA of Tuguegarao City, Cagayan
