IS ANYBODY IN GOV'T GETTING COMMISSIONS FROM OIL FIRMS?

With oil prices set for another increase, I can’t help but ask now: Is ANYBODY EARNING in any way from the AVALANCHE of profits the oil companies are making?

The oil companies are SLOWOLY KILLING US by BLEEDING OUR POCKETS DRY to a crisp and NOBODY in Government or among our lawmakers GIVES A DAMN!

NO SENATOR OR CONGRESSMAN has ever led an ACTUAL and LONG-TERM probe of the non-stop increases in oil prices.  Countless senators and congressmen have called for an audit or an investigation, yes. But was EVEN ONE EVER CONDUCTED?

One as lengthy and in-depth as the ongoing Senate investigation into anomalies in the military. I don’t recall one, IN ANY ADMINISTRATION. I will gladly correct myself if I’m wrong.

For the Government, no president has ever consistently called, or  expressed SERIOUS CONSIDERATION, for the REPEAL of the Oil Deregulation Law.

The Department of Energy (DOE), in any Administration since its creation, has NEVER conducted even A SINGLE PUBLIC hearing or investigation into the reasons being given by oil firms to raise prices.

Neither did the DOE make a consistent demand to the oil firms to open their books to justify their INSATIABLE LUST FOR MONEY, nor  conducted any serious move to achieve this.

There have been instances in the past wherein the DOE  blamed the Oil Deregulation Law for its helplessness in controlling oil prices. But never did it call for the repeal, or review, of the law.

What the DOE has CONSISTENTLY DONE, with FLYING COLORS, is to be the DEFENDER of the oil firms by pointing to rising prices in the world market as the culprit.

As I‘ve written before, oil firms can raise prices anytime and no one in Government, the Senate or the House of Representatives would mind.

But if it’s the masa who will ask for means to survive the OBSESSION for money of the oil firms, a thousand and one  hearings or processes have to be conducted before it’s considered for action.

Don’t tell me guys that let’s wait for the oil companies to starve us and our families first before we GET TOGETHER, and act as one.

A special court must be created solely to fast track the prosecution and/or disposition of illegal drugs cases. Our laws just have to be implemented- -fairly, strictly and without fear or favor. Vigilance on the part of the citizenry and the media must be unrelenting.

MARIA CRISOSTOMO IBARRA
I agree. That's what I've been telling, tutal sa matataas naman galing ang droga. DRUG LORDS lang, Boyet, huwag pushers. Taga-tinda lang iyon.

Well said, Boyet. Extreme Arrogance Breeds Extreme Corruption! No one Is untouchable in public office. Public office is a public trust and requires public accountability. Enough is enough of this kind of public servants.  Acting llike ‘gods’ in their own kingdoms. They are not the owners of their positions.

Merci even thinks she's co-equal to the three branches of govt. I guess that makes her the fourth branch.

May inner goverment yata sila at hindi ang president of the Philippines ang sinusunod nila.

Indeed, Boyet, they deserve to be fired, all those who believe that they are above the President or they are above the law. 30

  2. I have worked in the oil industry for several years in several countries. Oil deregulation at the local scene does not make sense when there is a cartel in the international market. What other countries do is they have their national oil company equivalent to our PNOC/Petron and their version of DOE to ensure that there is no price gouging by the oil companies.
The Ministry of Energy was originally created by Marcos during the first oil crunch when OPEC started squuezing the supply, just soon after the US created their own DOE. After EDSA 1, the MOE was abolished by Cory mainly because all the people at MOE were Marcos boys and the price of oil was down (dropped from a high of $43 down to less than $10). It was only during the time of FVR that the DOE was created again and the first thing it did was to deregulate the oil industry and privatize Petron.
I did consulting work at PNOC and tried to push for policies that would help our country secure our energy source but nobody was interested.
