GARCIA PLEA BARGAIN A 'GO SIGNAL' FOR THIEVES

Thieves in Government can now steal as much as they want and get away with it with the approval by the Sandiganbayan of the plea bargain struck by plunder suspect former military comptroller Carlos Garcia with the Office of the Ombudsman.

Garcia only has to return some P150-million of the approximately P300 million he amassed under highly questionable circumstances during his military stint and his troubles are over.

He keeps the P150 million, all of which are OUR TAXES.

You can just imagine thieves and plunderers in Government heaving a long sigh of relief and chanting “If Garcia can do it, why can’t we?”

I won’t say the plea bargain’s approval has just killed justice. But as if to humans, it had triggered a CRIPPLING HEART ATTACK that has left us with VERY, VERY LITTLE CHANCES of recovery.

Consider this, among others, boys and girls:

Early on in the case, Garcia’s wife ADMITTED to investigators that their riches came from people whom he had awarded with projects and contracts when he was Armed Forces helicopter.

Garcia had NO SOURCE of income which could prove he had legally earned more than P300 million until a case was filed against him.

The properties amassed by Garcia, like multi-million peso condominiums, cars and real estate, were found and he admitted ownership of these.

But despite all these, Garcia will still be free, and P150 million richer. I repeat, P150 MILLION OF OUR TAXES.

NOTHING WILL STOP, and scare, thieves in Government now from stealing hundreds of millions, or even billions of pesos> They just have to return part of it to remain FREE.

f people stop paying, or begin cheating a lot more, on their taxes, dump the blame first and foremost on the Garcia plea bargain.

No one in Government must be surprised if more taxpayers will now go by the argument “Why pay taxes when it will only be stolen and the thieves can get away with it?”

Most of all, expect a sharp drop in the people’s trust and confidence on the courts, and the Justice system as a whole.

All these because of just one man, one case.

I sure hope Chief Justice Rene Corona and the rest of the Supreme Court will take a very close look at the Garcia plea bargain. 30

  1. repeatitious : suggest na magkaruon talaga ng power beyond talk and kalakhan ng mga mamamayan maliban sa pangunguna ng mga nakaupong opisyales who always say they are representing the people yet they truly arent doing so. The goverment people agencies and its laws, the corrupt businessmen, the AFP shouldnt be untouchables , na hindi natin maregulate kung ang mga ginagawa nito sa kalakhan ng bansa ay negatibo ang epekto, end results and morals should take precedence in authority and override technicalities, formalities of man made laws when those laws do not anymore protect the democratic form and interest majorya of the citizenry. behind a law formulated was a moral behind it that must serve for the good benefit and guidance of the filipino people and its assets and resources whatever , but when those laws become the harm that jeopardizes the well being of the country and and benefits of the citizenry, then the rule of end results and moral should take precedence in authority and we should drop the laws that harm. Abolish the people at the sandigan bayan!!!
