ISSUES LACSON STILL NEEDS TO EXPLAIN!

The statement of Sen, Ping Lacson in a press conference yesterday left a lot of unanswered questions in my mind.

First, Lacson had admitted before he went into hiding that he had met with Cesar Mancao, who’s now the main witness against him, and Michael Ray Aquino in the US. He had said then that the two can vouch for his innocence in the Dacer-Corbito murders.

But WHY DIDN’T HE BRING THEM HOME, at once? Why did he prefer to be under a cloud of suspicion all these years instead of immediately coming out clean of the crime and redeeming his honor.

He had the money. He had the influence. He had the connections and the informants to protect them from threats to their lives, if f there were any. As I’ve written in an earlier blog, any innocent man would readily grab the very first opportunity to prove that he had nothing to do with what he’s being accused of.

Second, Lacson had claimed that Mancao was only forced by the administration of former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo (GMA) to implicate him in the Dacer-Corbito murders.

Then why HASN’T HE SUED MANCAO for oral defamation, or libel or grave slander up to now? Especially considering the fact that Mancao’s supposed benefactor is no longer in power.

Third, he claims the GMA administration forced the issuance of the arrest warrant against him.

Where’s the proof? What’s his basis? Does he have a witness? He says he had fled from injustice but he’s now committing injustice in another form, maligning the reputation of a person without presenting evidence.

Fourth, Lacson said he DIDN’T NEED A DISGUISE during his days of hiding.

Then, what made it so difficult for lawmen to find him? How far did they go in looking for Lacson? How intense was the manhunt?

I’m just going by the facts. I’m not accusing Lacson of anything. We will be hearing a lot of political noise in the coming days on this issue and as I’ve said in my blog yesterday, ask for proof and study it first before you draw your own conclusions.

Five of our friends on “PDEA should probe Sally Villanueva’s claims” :

AIR FORCE BRIG. GEN.(ret) MICHAEL SISCAR

Illegal drugs had invaded the Philippines 40 years ago and the battle continues, with the drug syndicates winning over the drug enforcers. To defeat the enemy the strategy should be holistic: Destroy the Financier, Destroy the Producer, Destroy the Trafficker, Destroy the Pusher, Destroy the User, and Destroy the Protector. If we allow even one of the SIX to survive, we lose the War.

MIAN RUBRICO SEBASTIAN of Antipolo, Rizal

I can only say I doubt if she did not know right from the start. i had knowledge of a similar "mule" incident, this time involving a PINOY who was apprehended for several months in Africa. Based on his e-mails, he was totally aware of the transactions right from the very start.  I pray for her (Villanueva) and the two others though, and their families. I pray that they be given new leases on life. I condemn the act, not the sinner.

EDUARDO VERZOLA

We are adding insult to OFWs. The three are not OFWs but transacted couriers. Yes, PDEA must start their investigation about the claim...the wife of the man admitted she knew her husband to be a contractor of drug deliveries.

BENITO MOLINO of Antipolo Rizal

YUKO TAKEI

Why should I believe her claim when I know for a fact how Filipino criminals are often advised to commit perjury by even making perjured affidavits? All drug couriers in fact have the same story to tell. They should have advised her to be sorry for what she did and let the Filipino people know, especially the young, not to emulate her, and her fellow drug couriers' example. May God forgive her soul.
