SIGNS OF ILLEGAL DRUGS IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD!

Let me share with you, from a booklet I had written, some common signs on the presence of illegal drugs in the neighborhood or barangay:

VERY SHORT visits to a home, usually in the dead hours of the day or late at night, by different people. The visitor usually doesn’t come in and leaves right after he talks to or receives something from the homeowner, even if it’s only a matter f seconds.

Smoke, odorless or unusual in smell, coming from a home or from a group of people in a dark or not so noticeable spot.

Increasing number of robberies or petty thefts, both cash and easy to sell items like mobile phones, watches and jewelry.

Increasing volumes of aluminum foil, injection equipment, matches or lighters and other paraphernalia for use of illegal drugs in trash cans or common garbage bins.

Heavily-guarded warehouses with no known or clear business or purpose.

Heavily-guarded homes with owners or tenants who HARDLY, or  DO NOT SOCIALIZE with neighbors.  And if the owner or tenant employs people but does not post a business sign or won’t even talk about his trade, 99 percent it’s illegal drugs or something unlawful.

Deliveries of chemicals and laboratory or medical equipment to a home with no business sign or declaration from the owner that he is  engaged in a related trade.

ABRUPT and ABNORMAL CHANGES in the moods and character of some residents, especially teenagers.

Known JOBLESS PEOPLE of dubious origins who live lavish lifestyles and never seem to run out of cash.

Immediately report any of these signs to your homeowners’ association ad the authorities, from the barangay all the way to the mayor and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

DON’T WAIT for something violent to happen first before you act.

And as our friend Efren Cordero Pimentel has suggested, let’s all pray PSALM 119 of the Holy Bible in fighting the illegal drug menace.

ANNEFORD VERDAN of Quezon City on “Robredo is a pathetic incompetent who must be fired”:

Secretary Jesse Robredo had a clear marching order from President Aquino: Stamp out “jueteng.” Robredo, who met with Mr. Aquino shortly before his appointment last year, was told that the president has issued a very clear directive to stop jueteng. That was the start of Robredo's slide to oblivion

If Ping wants to re-establish his credibility he must tell the truth and nothing but the truth! We need to start cleaning up our government and set up a good example for people to follow.

  2. I thought only rich people kids are targeted by drug pushers until it happened to my youngest son, I was naived and not aware because I am a very disciplinarian parent. On top of everything when it comes to my kids. This drugs pushers does not discriminate they will lure anybody or anyone who are vulnerable and will get you hook on this deadly drugs methamphitamines. My son was a victim since he was 14 yrs. old and in time I caught him and with tough love intervention I have him arrested. Gave him the most needed help he needed, and finally sat down one day and talked to me son and without me knowing he was begging for help but don't have the courage to hurt my feelings that he was a victim of this deadly drug habit. He was a good obedient kid, came to church with me and always very polite like I raised him but don't trust,be nosy, inspect their rooms, find out who they are hanging with this is the only way to protect your family. And if there is a changed in behaviour like sleeping and staying in bed all day and does not look you straight into your eyes and avoid you then you have to be concerned have them check do it right away before it is too late. With the blessing of the Lord and my prayers my son is clean and very thankful I did what I did to intervened. He is now a productive contribution to the society and is doing well! I hope this helps other family. I am very honest here this is not something to be ashamed of this is a disease of the society if it is not address early this can destroy families! Report to the authority right away if you have to drastic decision to save your love one do it!!
