USELESS, SELF-SERVING WARNING BY MALACANANG!

Whoever thought of, and approved, the Malacañang warning against ‘unpleasant surprises’ by schools in the assessment of fees this school year had better be relieved, if not fired.

Two reasons: Either Malacanang is trying to make GULLIBLE IDIOTS out of us or they don’t know what they’re doing, OR BOTH.

The warning comes JUST THREE DAYS before classes begin in majority of both public and private schools nationwide, when probably 90 percent or more of parents have already enrolled their kids.

And have HELPLESSLY PAID for whatever QUESTIONABLE, OR OUTRAGEOUS, fees which had been charged by schools. THREE SHORT DAYS, instead of before enrollment started which would have been not just the LOGICAL but SANE thing to do.

Using Malacanang’s terminology, the ‘unpleasant surprise’, has already been collected before Pnoy’s boys even thought of warning against it.

Making that warning a USELESS, SELF-SERVING or ‘pa-pogi’ press statement SHAMELESSLY aimed at giving a semblance of concern and sympathy to the general public outcry against UNAFFORDABLE tuition.

Apart from the fact that it s a warning WITHOUT SANCTIONS against those who will not heed it.

And before anyone raises an eyebrow, get this:

Reports in the Philippine Daily Inquirer quoted Presidential Spokesman Edwin Lacierda as saying that the Commission on Higher Education “is working on a framework to rationalize the miscellaneous fees charged by colleges and universities.”

WORKING ON A FRAMEWORK. Meaning, whatever is that framework is STILL BEING READIED, and not yet done.

So again, what’s the use of this warning against ‘unpleasant surprises’? I’ll gladly welcome any comment that can prove the contrary.

One thing I’ll tell you, boys and girls, this warning is another proof of Malacanang’s PATHETIC LACK of foresight in dealing with, and handling, very vital concerns of the people.

Pnoy shouldn’t be surprised if his ratings PLUNGE DEEPER in the next surveys.

Eight of our friends on “Questions on the Batangas, Pangasinan fish kill”:

ALBERTO ROJO of Bacolod City

I beg to disagree with Lacierda that the reduction in the number of fishpens can prevent fish kills Even when there are no fishpens anymore, all marine fauna will still be gradually extinguished because of deficiency of oxygen brought about by algal blooms due to EUTROPHICATION or leaching of nitrates and phosphate fertilizers from nearby agricultural farms.

ARCHIE GRAPA of Manila

It’s all about greed. Those selfish bastards are killing the lakes which should be inherited by our grandchildren. Baklasin na dapat lahat yan. And sa mga illegal diyan: We don't give a damn kung kabuhayan ninyo yan. What part of illegal don't you understand?

MARIA CRISOSTOMO IBARRA

Whatt happened is a variety of reasons. But one thing i have in mind is environmental problems, the first time it occurred in fishponds. Or maybe the greedi of owners.

KELLY LIM of Manila

It’s the fault of the people. Two fish pens side by side, parang sardines na. Look what happened.

TERESITA WOODARD of Gapan, Nueva Ecija

Madali kasi makalaimot mga tao. Huwag tayo sobra maghangad.

HILL ROBERTS

What exactly happened and who was responsible?

MANUEL TOLENTINO JR. of Manila

Who did this scenario?

Four of our friends in “My suggestions in allowing divorce”:

JUNEX DORONIO of Cebu City

THATA ESMAEL of Cotabato City

In Islam, we give an IIdda" period (allowing both parties to think thoroughly) for 90 days before divorce is fully granted.

ESTHER UYOCO of Oceanside, California, USA

SUSAN CARO of Dammam, Saudi Arabia

EDWIN REYES of Gumaca, Quezon on “Commission on Higher Tuition”:

In increasing tuition, they're not only putting the burden on our parents but on the whole family as well. An increase in tuition would mean lesser expenses on other things. There are cases wherein one of the kids had to stop in order for the other sibling to finish school.
