SAVE YOUR KIDS FROM ILLEGAL DRUGS!

CLASSES START TOMORROW AND HIGH SCHOOL AND COLLEGE KIDS WILL AGAIN BE TARGETS OF PUSHERS. I HOPE THESE SUGGESTIONS WILL HELP YOU SAVE THEM FROM ILLEGAL DRUGS.

BE A FRIEND to your children. BE READY TO LISTEN when they ask for a private audience with you because they have a problem. If necessary, join them in solving the problem.

If they achieve something, whether in or out of school, openly show your appreciation and be proud of them to your friends and relatives.

A common reason kids turn to drugs is they feel unappreciated or unwanted. They get the impression that they have no one else to turn to, especially in times of trouble.

Learn about illegal drugs, especially its bad effects on the health, and orient your kids about it in the warmest and jovial manner possible. Some kids try illegal drugs simply because they want to know how it feels.

Make it a point to personally know the friends of your kids. Invite them to your home so you can observe them up close.

If you find somebody‘s behavior suspicious, don’t condemn the person but relay your observation to your kids in a caring tone. Kids nowadays tend to be overly protective of their peers.

If you have the time and the means, do a background check on that person.

Inquire from your friends and neighbors on the drug problem, if any, in your area. Get as much details as possible, especially names of alleged pushers and their henchmen, and where they sell their goods.

Then, relay this to your children so they would know who and what to avoid.

Encourage your co-parents in the neighborhood, and if possible In the entire barangay, to form yourselves into an association as common guardians of your kids against drugs.

Meet regularly on the status of the drug problem in your area and share whatever information you know with each other.

And most of all, NEVER EVER AFORGET to pray for your kids. 30
