President Noynoy Aquino HIMSELF has proven that his popularity is SINKING.
Even to a group as small as graduating students of the University of the Philippines and their families, Noynoy has publicly called for support for the ouster of Ombudsman Merceditas Gutierrez.
This is nothing less than an indirect admission by Noynoy that his earlier appeals for Mercy’s condemnation and ouster is NOT PICKING UP and needs more push.
Meaning, HE’S NOT AS POPULAR as he used to be.
Because if he still is, Noynoy knows that he only has to say the word and then sit back and watch his legions take care of the rest. That he doesn’t need to go the extra mile just to achieve what he wants.
More importantly, his call to the UP community only gives weight to counterclaims by others that he’s DESPERATELY looking for scapegoats to justify the rapidly eroding trust and optimism of the public on him.
Another DEFINITE thing to follow is an INCREASE in public perception of his ARROGANT AND TOTAL DISREGARD of the independence of Legislative Branch from the Executive Branch of Government.
Merci has been already impeached and is just awaiting trial by the Senate. The ball therefore, is now in the hands of the Senate and Noynoy should have the courtesy to respect that.
The Senate DOES NOT NEED HIM to decide on Merci’s fate.
Otherwise, Noynoy’s antics will only prove a third and equally crucial point: the case against Merci IS SO WEAK that he needs to intervene to help ensure a conviction by the Senate.
And that Merci’s impeachment by the House of Representatives WAS NOT because of the merits of the case against her but ONLY because he had more allies than her.
One thing for sure, Noynoy’s propaganda people are doing A VERY, VERY POOR JOB on him.

JAMJU A. RIVERA of Isabela, Basilan on “Willing Willie”:
That show must be axed once and for all. We believe that Government should probe this deplorable example of impunity on the part of big-headed celebs and their moneyed corporate backers who think they can do anything and get away with it too. We will BOYCOTT that show, TV 5 and all its commercial sponsors until the station cancels it FOR GOOD.

Meron silang commission na binibigay ng mga rice importers. Marami silang naghahati-hati diyan at ang bagman ay nasa NFA.

Best to check on his assets now.
Two of our friends on “Is anybody in gov't getting commissions from oil firms?” :
MELENDRE DOMONDON XIKIDI of Athens, Greece
The gov’t doesn’t give a damn to investigate it...why should they? it doesnt affèct them. if it doesn’t suit them, then they'll be very fast to act.
ANNEFORD VERAN of Quezon City
It seems the current administration is not listening to the cry of the people in all sectors of society. Reversing the imposition of the 12% value-added tax (VAT) on petroleum products will surely help us cope with the oil crises. Pnoy should be dead-serious in collecting the correct taxes from ports and airports.
Three of our friends on “NFA rice importation highly questionable”:
HILL ROBERTS
Why billions just to import rice? Why can't that money be used to improve and develop the rice industry instead of throwing that away to foreigners? Where is the pragmatism and practicality in this? My goodness, those people in government either steal or throw money away like there's no tomorrow.
ROSE DE GUSMAN OF NEW YORK, NEW YORK, USA
Nothing new, Boyer. Same old guava.
