The continued fighting for the proposed Libingan ng mga Bayani burial for former President Ferdinand Marcos is not doing us any good
The only thing we get out of it is to be DIVIDED as a people, politically and socially. It DOESN’T HELP solve unemployment, sky-high oil prices, poverty and other major national concerns.
We had better stop this immediately. And as we leave the issue entirely to the Government to decide on, let’s settle key factors among ourselves.
Apart from being a soldier or former president, what are the other requirements for a slot in the Libingan ng mga Bayani? Under the law, are there any exceptions to these two categories which can still block burial at the Libingan?
If there is none, then nothing should block Marcos’ final journey to the resting place for heroes. If there is, then the antis had better come out with it quick, and in detail, for public awareness.
In fairness, Marcos is both a former president and soldier. As a lot of us now, he earned 27 medals or so while fighting for our country during World War 2.
There are questions on the veracity of the supposed gallantry in action behind his medals. So where is the CONTRADICTORY PROOF? Physical, contradictory proof? Witnesses, please, if any.
If there is physical proof, then the Marcoses must be allowed to refuse this. If there is none, then debates on that aspect must cease and the former president must be allowed in the Libingan.
Marcos supposedly stole from the Government and amassed dirty money in the billions during his term. Again, where is the proof, and the supporting law or rule to justify his exception from the Libingan?
And assuming that he had indeed committed mortal sins during his presidency, isn’t he entitled to forgiveness and a peaceful rest now that he’s dead? After all, millions of our people continue to benefit to this day from the good things Marcos had left behind, like the LRT, the Coastal Road and the San Juanico Bridge.
For those who will say Marcos is unforgivable, the next question is WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE? If our Lord Jesus Christ can forgive, why can’t you?

The problem with the Filipino is they only see the mistakes, failures of the President. But his accomplishments was never complimented. Why not help him instead of pushing him down?

Maraming problemang iniwan. Maraming pulitikong ayaw magtuwid ng daan. Maraming kamalidad ang nangyayari sa buong mundo na apektado tayo. Anim na taon para makabangon? We have to do our share.

Tumatawa lang si GMA ngayon. I did not vote for Pnoy. But I have high hopes on him. I just wish that his aparador, este Cabinet, members will serve our nation with honesty. I'll just do my part as a citizen.

Life is eternal, and love is immortal, and death is only a horizon; and a horizon is nothing save the limit of our sight. And he (Pres.Ferdinand E.Marcos) who has gone, so we but cherish his memory, abides with us, more potent, nay, more present than the living man.( May kasabihan tayong mga Filipino magdamot ka na sa mga buhay ,huwag lang sa patay )-RSBasilan

ReplyDeleteMga Pinoy gumising naman kayo...Martial Law babies...please naman...if we are called true followers of God, where is the word "forgiveness", kasi naman meron ding mga taong kahit na malapit nang mamatay ay ayaw pa ring magpatawad. President Marcos deserves a burial as a leader.
ReplyDeleteLet Marcos rest in peace and leave it all to God to judge him. Let's move on with our lives solve our country problem especially poverty. If his living family knows that he stoled money from Philippine Govt. God will also judge them. They will not escape the wrath of God. We as the living lets join hand and help who are now, living and breathing and suffering. Let the dead be dead and quit digging on the dirt. Phil. Gov't has been like this for a long time and it will not recover if we spend time dwelling on negative things. Accept that the Marcoses are clever they know how to hide their crimes and no one can do about it! Period!!!!!!
