MALICIOUS AND INHUMAN PCSO, MALACANANG1

Look at how MALICIOUS and INHUMAN can some people in the Aquino Administration be!

Deputy Presidential Spokesperson Abigail Valte now says that the investigation into cash for vehicles received by Catholic bishops from the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) is meant to find out if a constitutional prohibition was indeed violated and for what were the vehicles used.

Meaning NO CONSTIUTUTIONAL VIOLATION, or CRIMINAL ACT, has been established UP TO NOW on the part of the bishops.

And yet, the REPUTATION of the recipient-bishops, and for that matter the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP), was SLOWLY and DELIBERATELY DESTROYED with daily press releases by the PCSO on the issue.

With Malacanang WELCOMING the media hype and not lifting a finger to stop it.

And now that the bishops have decided to return the cash for the vehicles, while clarifying that these were not the sport utility type as first claimed by PCSO, come Valte’s statement.

As we say in the vernacular, WINASAK MUNA ANG PAGKATAO bago kinlaro sa madla na HINDI PA NAMAN NAPAPATUNAYAN kung nagkasala nga.

She also said the issue should not affect the partnership between the government and the Catholic Church in giving assistance to the needy.

That’s fair play for you, Aquino Administration style.

To add INSULT to INJURY, Valte said an another statement that “I think the Church and the Government are partners in helping our people. It’s not in question.”

So this is THE WAY THEY treat partners, If this isn’t HYPOCRISY to the max, somebody tell me what it is. I’d appreciate it, promise!

And since Valte herself says the Church and the Government are partners in helping our people, what has the Aquino Administration done about this? Has it extended any help at all to the Church for this partnership? Have you heard or do you know of any, boys and girls? 30

  1. One of the richest religious organization on planet earth is the Catholic Church. So, why some bishops ask vehicles from the PCSO? Why not ask the Vatican leadership vehicles? Are you aware that one painting in Vatican when sold the proceed will be higher than wealth of one poorest nation on earth? The CBCP has no authority to discipline their colleagues, yet they investigate only. Still the Vatican has the final say. Vatican is a separate state. The bishops are actually the ambassadors of the Pope, so why ask funding support from the government? See, their best option is to return the funds because they cannot discipline their own colleagues, its not part of the power and authority of the CBCP. Only the Vatican through its Pope can discipline those bishops involved. But the Pope will not do that. They have all the reasons and excuses. Try to explore and investigate the biggest scandals and mafia system in Vatican in past. You will be shocked. The issue of those bishops is just a peanut or nothing as compared to the past issues of the Catholic Church.

  2. I love reading your blog Boyet, because its a fresh air from the polluted nature of our media today. The pollution in the media based on half truth and insinuations are equally swallowed hook line and sinker among so many people, who just exposed their ignorance to the subject yet going ahead and bash the bishops and the church.

In my own reading on the letter of Bishop Pueblos, the request was intended to the Ex-President not to the PCSO. Which means, it is not the intention of the Bishop to ask the PCSO itself. The letter said “I will be celebrating my 66th birthday on March 8, 2009. I know this will be a precious day and timely occasion to thank the Lord for giving me another year … After a prayerful discernment and due considerations to the existing crisis phenomenon today, I have decided not to hold a birthday party. Instead, I prefer to make use of my birthday as a day with and for myself, and with God.” He further said that "he needs a new car to reach far-flung areas as his old car is no longer in good running condition." Bishop Pueblos was assigned at that time to the Melo Commission, which checked into the extra-judicial killings. He was also part of the Zenarosa Commission, which was tasked to dismantle private armies especially in Marawi as well as in the far-flung places of Abra.

Obviously, Bishop Pueblo's letter to GMA was wrote based on their friendship, which means personal, not official. Besides, I didn't see a line that ask the ex-Pres. to use PCSO to finance the needed vehicle. Is this not barking at the wrong tree? God enlighten us all!
